This poem was born out of the vulnerable experience of putting my work into the world. It's a journey that's been both exhilarating and terrifying, filled with the raw edges of anxiety and self-doubt. For so long, I've hidden behind a mask of shyness, protecting myself from the fear of being judged or ridiculed. But the truth is, I have so much to say—there's this uncontainable need within me to express, to share what is brewing inside.
Writing this poem was a way for me to process those fears and anxieties that come with exposing my deepest thoughts and feelings to a wider audience. It feels like drifting on a ghost ship, unmoored and uncertain, caught in the haunting space between the need to share and the fear of vulnerability. The digital world can be a daunting place when you stand as glass, fragile and transparent, open to the soft noise of opinions, judgments, and evaluations.
I think we all know the struggle with our old stories, the habits and beliefs that keep us safe in our nests of comfort. For me, leaving that nest sends chills through my bones, stirring up the wildness within—a part of me that is still tentative, like a deer pausing at the edge of the unknown. And yet, with every step, my resolve strengthens.
This poem also marks a turning point in my journey toward embracing my need to express myself as a personal source of joy. No longer am I solely concerned with how my words will be received—whether they are accepted or rejected. I've decided to dance with the spirit of existence, claiming each moment as my own. I’m allowing myself to be transparent, to be "this naked," even though it feels unsettling.
I’m learning to let go of the shadows where my spirit used to hide, to break free from the silence that once caged my creativity. This poem is a celebration of that liberation. It's a hymn to the courage I’ve found in choosing self-expression over self-protection, to the blossoming of my instincts now blooming in the light of courage.
This act of sharing is no longer just a quest for validation; it's an act of self-liberation. It's about letting my spirit dance in the sun, no longer shackled by old pains or the whispered fears that kept me small. This is my journey of reclaiming my voice, my essence, and finding freedom in the act of creation itself.
Unfurling in the Digital Expanse
To expose my essence
across the digital seas
Feels like drifting on a ghost ship—
haunted,
Unclear.
I stand,
As glass,
fragile amid the soft noise of digital murmurs.
My emotions are conflicting,
As I struggle with old ways of being.
Old stories.
Old beliefs.
Old habits.
Leaving my nest of comfort,
Sends a chill through my bones;
my spirit,
a wild deer,
eyes wide,
pauses at the edge of the unknown,
till resolve shepherds it back.
…………………..
Now, I am fully transparent—
exposed to others' evaluations.
My heart—
a source of ink;
my soul, a pen—
recording my deepest feelings.
How unsettling,
to be this naked.
Old habits
and thoughts
resurface,
obscuring my decision-making
with doubts
about what I should
or shouldn't do,
and what I could
or couldn't achieve.
Yet,
I choose not to dwell in a house of shadows,
where my spirit withers,
curling inward,
and my mind,
caged in silence,
Forgets creation.
I dance now,
With the spirit of existence,
claiming each moment as my work—
unshackled,
no longer a puppet to past pains
or whispered fears.
My instincts,
Once held captive
By the trembling child within,
Now blooms in the sun of courage.
Liberation—
My hymn.
Integration
When we feel the call to share ourselves with the world, whether through words, actions, or creative expression, it opens up a beautiful opportunity for us to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery and growth. Embracing vulnerability and daring to step beyond our comfort zones requires courage, yet the liberation that blossoms from embracing our authentic selves is both expansive and profoundly liberating.
So Let's explore those doubts and habits together, gently challenging them and replacing them with new, empowering beliefs that support our growth and self-expression. You have within you the strength to dance with the spirit of existence, to claim each moment as your own, unshackled by past pains or fears.
